Automation in Intralogistics
Today’s automated warehouses represent the pinnacle of technological advancement in logistics. Automated warehouses can be divided into several groups, depending on the type of automation, and one of them is ASRS – Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems.
At Sigmoid, we have a longstanding collaboration with a client who owns ASRS types of warehouses worldwide, and this collaboration is reflected in the field of engineering. Our team of engineers is actively involved in various types of mechatronics design projects, including:
- Grid/Rack products
- Battery Charging systems
- Enabling systems
- User Safety products
- Crash Safety products
- PCB Test jigs
The Challenge
The client is working on designing a completely new type of warehouse. One of the main focuses is on the design of safety products, and the technical requirements for each of them pose a significant challenge. Restrictions regarding certain dimensions limit the use of existing products on the market, so the client seeks our assistance in the form of a final solution.
The Solution
Our engineers are faced with the challenge of designing completely new safety products. These products must simultaneously meet the client’s requirements and reference standards related to user safety. Initial ideas are transformed into real products in record time, going through all necessary design phases, including computer simulations and real testing.
Our involvement not only contributes to the improvement of existing systems for the client but also includes the development of a large number of products. Some products from these systems are fully developed by our engineers. This implies that we have engineers with the skills of lead engineers in these areas, especially when it comes to safety products. Whether it’s the implementation of “Off the Shelf” products into an existing system or the development of a completely new product (from scratch), our engineers are ready to offer their knowledge and experience.
